SUPPORTING UNITS

1. Institute of Social Jurisprudence (FiSI)

Institute of Social Jurisprudence (FiSI) is a study center, research and publication founded in 2012. This body is primarily concerned with developing thought on “social jurisprudence” that has been popularized by a prominent scholar, KH. MA. Sahal Mahfudz as a new breakthrough in Islamic jurisprudence that based on Indonesian atmosphere.

The major programs of FiSI are as follow: 1) Holding be-weekly discussion presented by internal speakers of university or national scholar specialized in the field of fiqh; 2) conducting yearly research on fiqh and social studies and participated by students and the faculty members. Funds were obtained from internal financing and other external sponsors. 3) Publication of the research, books and other scholarly works that popularized social fiqh.

2. North Coast Centre(NCC)

North Coast Centre (NCC) is a new organization formed in early 2013. NCC was founded in response to the social awareness that IPMAFA exists and grows in the midst of north coast Muslim communities in Java. The special phenomenon of religious and socio-economic diversity within the community along with cultural coast trade, openness and egalitarian atmosphere, has led to distinct civilizations if it compared to the common rural Muslim communities which are mostly of syncretism, symbolic, and close to the power. In addition, the Muslim civilization of the north coast is closely associated with the central development of Chinese civilization in Indonesia. Therefore, the NCC has a special interest in the development of Islamic studies of North Coast and Chinese Islam in Indonesia.

3. Center for Research and Community Service (P3M)

The institute mission is to conduct qualified-academic research and community service. There are two major programs on regular and incidental basis: Regular programs include Field Work (CCN), faculty and student research, training and regular discussions among lecturers. While the incidental programs are conducted through research competition that involve external parties and professional training that open for outside members.

4. University Dormitory (Ma’had Jami’ah)

Ma’had Jami’ah is established as integral part as well as supporting system for education in IPMAFA where its presence is expected to provide skills for all learners to explore the religious sciences. Ma’hadalJami’ah currently has more than200 male and female students arranged by the special board with special assistants and mentors. The educational programs include: Islamic jurisprudence, foreign language, Qur’an recitation and religious studies. While supporting program consists of outbound, matriculation, PHBI, etc.

5. Entrepreneurship School

The program is in collaboration with the University of Ciputra (UCEC) Surabaya the purpose of which is to instill the spirit of entrepreneurship among the range of faculty members, students and collaborative partners.
